FAQ - Frequently asked questions
| The most important criteria is an existing cooperation between TU-Berlin and your home university because without a valid cooperation agreement we cannot accept you. Furthermore, you must be selected for the Erasmus scholarship by your home university. Only then can you apply to the TUB International Office. Please make sure all application forms are filled in correctly on the computer, signed and sent to us by mail. Illegible forms without a valid signature cannot be accepted. |

| We only accept exchange students within a valid exchange cooperation. |

| Yes, because the vast majority of courses is offered in German only. Consequently, it is indispensable that you take German classes before embarking on your studies over here. Therefore you will need to proof German skills on level A2. |

| You should arrive about two weeks before lectures are scheduled to start. This way you will have sufficient time to get through all the formalities, to explore the campus and last but not least to find suitable accommodation. In case you wish to attend the German intensive course offered before the beginning of each semester, you will have to arrive 4 weeks before the semester starts. |

| Your first port of call should be the International Office because we have got some important information prepared for you in addition to your admission notices, which you will need in order to enrol. |

| Yes. However, the free German intensive course is intended only for students with a previous knowledge of at least 200 hours of German lessons. It usually starts about one month before the beginning of the semester and takes place at the ZEMS (Zentraleinrichtung für Moderne Sprachen / Centre for Modern Languages). | Accommodation: 190-350 € Food: 200 € Books: 20 € Miscellaneous: 40 € Total: ~ 510-650 € per month. Please note that these figures can merely represent a rough estimate. A lot depends on your personal choices. Semesterticket: ~ 210 Euro (once per semester). This covers all public transport during the term within Berlin. |
