Residence permit
International students who live longer than 3 months in Germany are required to have a residence permit. This applies equally to exchange students who have to apply for a study visa before entering the country since the visa expires after 3 months and to those who need no visa.
Please note that all EU citizens will obtain their residence permit together with the confirmation of their residence registration. As a non-EU-citizen you must apply for a residence permit within 3 months upon your arrival. You can do this either at TU Berlin or at the Immigration Office (Ausländerbehörde).
| On Fridays at 10:00 a.m. an appointment list will be put in front of room H 51 (located on the ground floor of the main building). Sign up on the list, memorize the time of your appointment and return to the office accordingly. Our colleagues will then take care of your application. It might take up to four weeks to receive the residence permit through TU Berlin and you will have to do without your passport in the meantime. In case you have further questions please contact our colleagues in room H51 or send them an email: bintstud@referat-1e.tu-berlin.de |
