International students who are non-EU-citizens and
want to live longer than 3 months in Germany are required to get a
residence permit (in case they don't already have a visa that is valid
for the whole time of their stay). This applies equally to
non-EU-citizens who got an entry visa before coming to Germany (which
expires after 3 months) and to those who need no visa to enter the
As a non-EU-citizen you must apply for a residence permit within 3 months upon your arrival if you did not already get a visa for the whole period of your stay. You can do this easily through the TU Berlin visa office. Just make an appointment during office hours or sign up on the appointment list on Fridays at 10:00 am in front of room H 51 (located on the ground floor of the main building).
