Buddy Program
What is the Buddy Program?
The aim of the buddy program is the intercultural exchange of students, both from Berlin and abroad. First of all it concerns rather useful things like meeting at the airport or station as well as your first orientation in Berlin. However, the exchange of languages, cultures and experiences is important as well and often new friendships can be established.
Why would I need a Buddy?
If you are an exchange student your buddy can help you during your first weeks in Berlin in terms of orientation and administrative matters. Probably your buddy could pick you up from the airport/station and help you to find your way to your accommodation. They are also your first German contact and might introduce you to the cultural life in Berlin. The German students taking part in this program help you on a voluntary basis.
How to get a Buddy!
If you want to be set in contact with a German buddy please check the appropriate box on the exchange application form. The AAA will assign a German student to you after your application has been processed.
