Application documents

The following documents are to be completed and submitted as:

-1 hard copy, sent by mail 

-1 digital copy, uploaded to Mobility Online

  • TUB application form completed and submitted online, print a hard copy to hand in
  • Statement of Purpose (in English OR German and the teaching language or working language); a one to two-page text stating your academic and personal motivations and objectives for your stay abroad; 
  • Detailed study plan (in English OR German and the teaching language or working language) with a course list of the host university or a detailed project description and timetable for thesis projects;
  • Complete resume (in English OR German and the teaching language or working language)

  • Transcript of records (up-to-date QISPOS printout)
  • Higher education entrance qualification (school leaving certificate), if applicable also BA certificates

  • 1 reference letter provided by a professor (form B2, in English or German)

  • Proof of knowledge of the language relevant for the planned stay abroad or at least of English. The following certificates are accepted:

    • Language level certificates or confirmations from the Modern Language Center (ZEMS) OR
    • onSET-Test

  • Supervision confirmations from a TU Berlin professor and a professor from the host university (only required when applying to complete a thesis at a university abroad)

For internships, study trips and doctoral candidates different procedures apply. For internships, please contact the Career Service. The Section International Scientific Cooperation is responsible for PROMOS-funded study trips. Doctoral students please contact the colleagues at TU DOC.
